Udupi :  The bronze statues of Dr VS Acharya, former Udupi district minister and minister for higher education, were unveiled at the Udupi CMC office and in front of the DC administration complex on February 14, Thursday, being the first death anniversary of Dr Acharya. District Minister and Minister for Mujrai and Ports, who unveiled the two statues, said Dr Acharya was a honest and non-controversial political leader who was much respected.

Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat also spoke. He said the Udupi DC administration complex Rajathadri which was inaugurated during the lifetime of Acharya was a dream project of the late leader.
