Mangalore : M. Veerappa Moily, the union minister for law and justice inaugurated the Mangala Auditorium of Mangalore University on April 29, Friday.
Speaking after inaugurating the event, he said India is growing very fast and our country will be in the number one position in infrastructure development in 2 more decades.
He also said that the University needs to develop in the fields of information technology, science, technological achievement, productivity, open education system, and research. The university must revise its syllabi annually.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. V. S. Acharya, the minister for higher education and pro chancellor of the university, said that the knowledge commission, which was formed to enhance the quality of higher education in the state, has done a good job in collaboration with academicians and experts.
Vice Chancellor Prof. T. C. Shivashankar Murthy presided over the event and said that
Mangalore University has been placed in the 24th place in a list of top 50 Indian universities based on publication output, share of international collaborative papers, and H-Index by the Indian Journal of Science and Technology.
Registrar (evaluation) Prof. K. Chinnappa Gowda delivered the introductory address.
