Mangaluru: Bharatha Sevadala, Mangaluru taluk unit on Tuesday organised two-day ‘Leadership workshop for school children’ at Government Higher Primary School, Nalyapadavu of Shaktinagara.
Around 100 students from as many as 28 government schools took part in the workshop.
MLA J.R Lobo, in his key address, asked the teachers to not to neglect any child. “Every child is a miracle and can surprise all of us. Along with books, extra curricular activities should also be given to the children”, he said.
Studying entire day without engaging in any extra curricular activity can lead a child to depression and this is obvious in the metros, he said.
Mayor Jecintha Alfred inagurated the workshop.
Ganesh Kuntalapadi, businessman presided over the function.
Bharath Sevadala taluk president Prabhakar Sriyan, district secretery T.K Sudhir, taluk secretery Uday Kundar, corporater Akhila Alva, ex-mayor Abdul Aziz and Ravindra, Shekar Poojary, and Manje Gowda were present.
