Banagalore : There were noisy scenes and a dharna by the angry opposition today in the Assembly later adjourned as CM get ready for a 2 hour reply to the points raised by the Congress and other parties about powers to Lokayukta, to make him stronger for suo-moto actions against  officials and ministers who go wrong. CM told the MLAs that Lokayukta would be empowered to investigate cases relating to public servants.

The Lokayukta and Deputy could interchange their places, in case one or the other did not work in his place, as per amended law, the CM explained. On iron ore mining, he said the govt, has done all it. The PM had to convene a meeting of CMs to do more. He wanted national resources intact and only “value addition” be made to mined ores. Suitable officers were being promoted in service in this connection, he added.
