Bangalore : JD-S MLAs, led by HD Revanna, entered the legislature today, carrying a large suit case (full of kickbacks?) and sounding a conch and cymbals, to attract a lot of attention in a novel way, but subsequent clashes and war of words between the ruling and opposition MLAs ended in confusion and loud noises in a holy place.
While Revanna and Bandeppa Kashampura carried bundles of documents on land acquisition scams, as if they are from Wikileaks, other JD-S MLAs sounded the metal plates (Jagate) or cymbals, as they entered the assembly, inviting diversion and laughter.
The speaker Bopaiah (of Kodagu) ordered the marshals (security guards) to snatch the large suitcase and throw it out. Before the guards could lay lands on the suitcase containing BJP scans documents, the opposition MLA’s protested vehemently.
The speaker called out to Revanna, on the latter’s mischievous behavior as unacceptable and hold it was too much to tolerate, otherwise the MLA’s would be named and bundled out of the House, he warned.
However, the JD-S joker MLA’s emptied the suitcase before handing it over to guards, and kept the documents for display. The empty suitcase was thrown out of the House.
Just as CM Yeddyurappa had done yesterday inside the House, the JD-S MLA’s today lifted the bundles of objectionable documents and showed them to all present in a dramatic way, aping the CM.
The ruling BJP legislators expressed their own displeasure against such JD-S conduct. Congress leader siddaramaiah, speaking on the moisy occasion, explained why the suitcase made its grotesque entry. He demanded Yeddyurappa’s resignation of CM’s post, and asked why CM had earlier briught his suitcase.
The speaker objected to his remarks, giving rise to a bedlam, amidst war of words, in the House Siddaramaiah stated that until CM resigns, the House would not be allowed to carry out any activities.
The speaker instructed the CM to move certain motions even when noisy scences were going on.
Siddaramaiah asked his followers to shout, ‘BJP rule down, down’ and they did so, and entered the well of the House with slogans like ‘Rs. 500 Crores looted’.
The congress / JD-S MLA’s walked out after motion against HD Kumaraswamy was adopted by ruling BJP.
