Mangaluru: The Maravoor bridge on the Phalguni river  is likely to be opened for light vehicle movement from July 30.

A pillar of the bridge had sunk on June 15 after which it was closed for traffic and structural repairs started on it soon.

A test will be performed to check whether the bridge is safe for vehicular traffic under the supervision of experts on July 29.

The bridge is likely to be opened after remaining closed for about one and a half month.
