Belthangady : A pregnant woman was killed in a lightning strike at Gerukatte in Kaliya village of Belthangady on May 30, Thursday evening,.

The woman named Sameeda(23), wife of Iqbal was rolling beedies sitig beside a window when lightning struck her. She leaves behind a two year old son.

The house of Babu Mugera at Shivagiri near Karayaya was also struck by lightning  and damaged with walls  developing cracks.

 Several places in Puttur, Mangalore, Moodbidri, Kundapur, Udupi received good rainfall on Thursday.
