Mangalore: The Lions Club of Mangalore Midtown in association with Fr Muller Medical College, conducted a medical check-up camp at Vidya Jyothi Higher Primary School on November 4, Sunday. Nearly 1000 people from Kavoor, Mullakad, Kunjatbail, Shantinagar and other surrounding areas benefitted from the camp. Nearly 40 doctors examined the patients on the occasion. were present at the camp.
Free health cards worth Rs. 50 and Rs. 150 were distributed to eligible people on the occasion. The gynecology and ophthalmology sections received the highest number of patients.The largest number of patients flocked to the gynecology and ophthalmology sections. Gynecologist Dr. Vidhyashree Kamath said that 70 women approached the gynecology section.
Dr. Das Acharya, head of the department of community medicine at FMMC Lions District 317-D Zone Chairperson Annie Philip and others were present.
