Manjeshwar: Across the border on West Coast of Karnataka in Manjeshwar where a Kannada Poet Laureate (M. Govinda Pai) had lived, the local MLA, P.B. Abdul Razak has broken the pact to make peace, by violating certain decisions taken in Manjeshwar police station and committed breach of peace, the Leftist Forum’s Manjeshwar Block Committee alleged here.
The leftist Committee declared that it would complain to the legislature speaker and other legal authorities in this Connection.
The decisions had been arrived at, after a careful consideration of a Peace establishment Committee, in the presence of SI Manoj in the local police station, in view of several religious events and political rallies takings place on streets, decorations/flag shows being conducted by various organisations, which created a chaotic atmosphere in town.
They were asked to do these decorations or put up banners etc., only in their own areas and not everywhere, as accidents and clashes took place by Competition.
These rules were appreciated and remained in force till recently. But now, the rules were broken by MLA and his followers openly, giving rise to sensitive areas that ruled out peace, the Committee observed.
