Sullia: A man, said to be a Bajarang Dal activist was beaten up by the public as he allegedly used to harass women in an inebriated state and would also ask their phone numbers.

The incident took place at Bellare in the taluk on Thursday.

Sources say that Santhosh Shetty used to often stalk women and harass them.

The public were fed up and decided to teach him a lesson. After beating him, they handed him over to the police.

Santhosh was taken into custody and was questioned.
