Kasargod : The members of Janapara Raste Horata Samiti staged a day long road blockade at Badiadka – Kumble road on April 28, Monday against bad road work.

S A Mayya, unit president of Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Committee flagged off the protest, led by Horata committee president K N Krishna Bhat, Mahin Kelot, Balasubrahmanya, B Ramapatali, Jagannath Shetty, Mahesh Nidungala, B S Ibrahim Thomas.

During the protest, a heated conversation erupted between the protesters and the police.

The protestors blocked the road in Badiadka, Goliadka, Kanathila, Nirchal, Bela and Seetangoli. They also parked vehicles across Nirchal and placed stones to block the road, receiving wide support to the protest.

The protestors said that, even though the tender for the road work was invited two years ago, the work has not witnessed progress.
