Mangaluru: Locals staged protests on national highway here in Thokkottu on Saturday evening following a road accident which killed one youth while injured another seriously. The locals registered their anger over poor condition of the roads in the locality which directly caused for number of road mishaps earlier.

A youth lost his life while another suffered from serious injuries after a lorry collided into the motor cycle during evening hours of November 4 in Thokkottu. The injured youth has been identified as Rajesh Veigas, a resident of Bajal whereas identity of the deceased is not known. Vehicular traffic on national highway stalled for more than an hour following the protests by the people.
