Mangaluru : Sound and Lighting, Photographers, Catering and Shamiyana business is completely stopped after corona lockdown, employees associated with them too have been rendered jobless said, Associations Presidents here on May 22, Saturday.
They have appealed to the government to announce a package for them during the lockdown.
Last time too we were deprived of any package and this year too we are disappointed,” they said at a press meet.
They claim that, we have business season is mainly from January to May when weddings and other functions are mostly held However this year it is problems galore for us and our staff and families, said Ashok Kumar, President of Sound and Lighting Owners Association.
Speaking on the occasion, Anees, President of the Catering Owners’ Association, said that there are 120 registered members and 1200 permanent employees in Mangalore. He said the lockdown has been terminated our business.
Sridhar Shettigar, President of South Kanara Photographers Association spoke on the occasion.
The Shamiyana Owners Association has 247 members and this business provides employment to over 1400 people, while Sound and Lighting Association has 300 members while there are over 600 who are not yet registered. The DK and Udupi Photographers’ Association has 3826 members, informed D J Shyam of Sound and Lighting Association.
