Bantwal : Lokayukta slueths nab a village accountant and a retired assistant at a raid conducted at Navoor gram panchayat, near Bantwal on October 31, Monday.

The arrested are village accountant Honnappa and his father and retired assistant Victor.

Reportedly, Victor, in spite of having retired from the post was handling Honnappa’s wor and Lokayukta arrested both red handed while taking bribe from a woman.

These had demanded the amount of Rs 5,000 from Sunita for transferring the title deed. Sunitha who had paid Rs 2000 earlier has to pay the balance amount of Rs 3000 on October 31, Monday. During the time, she filed a compliant with Lokayukta police who laid a trap and arrested both..

The arrested have been produced before the court.

Lokayukta SP Jagamayyanavar, DySP Varnekar, and sub-inspector Uday Nayak conducted the operation.
