Kundapur: Unaccounted cash was seized from the office of the sub-registrar of Kundapur which was raided by the Lokayukta police on July 18, Wednesday. The raid followed complaints that the staff at the office demanded bribe to get every work done.
The Lokayukta team found Rs 20,615 in cash in the office of which Rs 17900 was with the sub-registrar Kavitha, and the remaining with two other staff namely Vanajalshi and Anand. If the raiding team took Anand into custody, cases were booked against the other two persons.
The raiding team was led by Lokayukta SP Jagamayyanavar. Others in the team were Sadanand Y Varnekar, DySP, Timmayya and BP Dinesh Kumar, inspectors.
