Mysore: A Lokayukta SP of Karkala Christian origin, S.E. D’Souza passed away due to heart attack at his office on duty, in Nazarabad on Thursday afternoon.

He was 58, and is survived by wife Anita and 2 sons, Alfred and Albert. Local Konkani Catholic Association secretary John William said that the late police officer was unassuming, not corrupt, but cordial and humane individual.

Several police officers and judges paid their last homage to the deceased, in tributes. Many of his admirers were in tears.

Stanislaus Edmund D’Souza served in Lokayukta as SP for three years. He served as SI in 1974, and later in COD, CID and LA in Bijapur, Mysore and Mandya. He was to retire only in 2013.
