Mangalore: A lorry moving on Netravati bridge broke down midway causing traffic jams for over 2 hours, to cross the bridge at both points due to slow movement of vehicles.

Office-goers and public on foot were affected, while ambulances could not pass through.

The long line of traffic can be seen towards Thokkottu on one side, and Ujjodi, Yekkur and Gorigudda on the other.

Fortunately, school and college rush hour did not occur during this traffic mess.

Finally, Kankanady rural police arrived on the spot to ease the grid-lock situation. The lorry was repaired and moved out. There was a sigh of relief from thousands on way.
