Mangaluru : A love affair is suspected behind the murder of a 27 year old Rakesh at Panjimogaru in Kavoor Police Station limits on January 3, Thursday night.

The deceased is Rakesh (27), son of Yogish of Urundady.

A labourer by profession,Rakesh was on way home in his scooter at around 10 pm when the assailants blocked his way on Malady road and attacked him with lethal weapons. Rakesh succumbed to the injuries at the spot.

Mangaluru City Police Commissioner T R Suresh and other senior police officials have visited the crime scene. Finger print experts and a canine squad has been pressed into service.
