Bangalore: The Department of Food and Civil Supplies, as well as Consumers Affairs Dept., have issued a circular today, asking those above Poverty Line (upper classes) to produce their ration card and electric bill payment vouchers before Jan.29, refill their cooking gas cylinders once they are finished.
Although it is claimed that this circular is published in some Kannada /English local dailies, consumers are unaware of it and do not know how to go about it. For various reasons, such a demanding circular has not made its impact on consumer property.
The government is anxiety to prevent the misuse (or black marketing?) of LPG cylinders. Every cylinder is given on the basis of a ration card. Those who do not possess it, have to pay their power bills on time and hold the receipt in a queue to obtain a relief of LPG.
