Puttur: A tanker carrying 12,000 litres of liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) in 3 equal compartments, rolled over and fell near Nelyadi in Puttur taluk, with gas leaking out and causing the disruption of vehicular traffic on way since today morning (7am)
A fire brigade rescue ream rushed from Kadri, as also one from Pandeshwar to the spot, with water tenders to fight any fire or avert any grave mishap on way. Several other fire fighters from Sullia, Belthangady and Moodabidri also ran to the accident area to help.
Leakage of gas is continuing. It has prevented people from lighting home fires for cooking around the region. Traffic has been diverted on Mangalore-Bangalore route.
