Mangalore : New Mangalore Port (NMP) welcomed the cruise vessel M. V. Seven Seas Voyage with 665 passengers and 449 crew members on board on Dec 27, Tuesday.
This is the ninth cruise vessel calling at the Port during the current financial year 2011-12. The vessel, which arrived from Goa, set sail for Cochin later this evening.
Large number of passengers from the vessel hailed from the USA and UK and 500 passengers opted to go on a ground tour arranged by Mumbai Lia Travels and M/s Ventour International.
The passengers visited cashew processing unit at Bykampady, 1000 Pillar Jain temple, Moodabidri, monolithic statue of gomateshwara, at Karkala, Gokarnanatha temple, St.Aloysius chapel and other places.
Dr. P. Tamilvanan said that the next cruise ship will arrive at the port on Dec 31, 2011 and by January first week, two more vessels are expected arrive at the port.
At present MV Father Neptune reached on Dec 25 is being unloaded.
