Mangalore: The 20th year celebration of ‘Madhu Taranga’ known for promoting young singers around Mangalore was inaugurated by DKCC leader B.Janardhana Poojary who praised it as a popular music group.
Jagdish Shivpur, otherwise known as junior Rajkumar in singing for his likeness to the legendary actor in kannada, had built up the team, which held the celebrations on Sunday at the Town Hall(July 17).
Poojary lauded Shivpur’s efforts to promote light music with his dedication to a life of singing, and for bringing several young singers to light. Every year the singer organizes a musical tribute to late Raj Kumar and honors achievers in several fields including music he added.
Besides Poojary, on the dais were Hotelier Harikrishna Punaroor, Bangalore jeweler Nanjundi and Daijiworld editor Walter Nandalike as guests of honour.
12 achievers in various fields like Litrature and political or vastu, wee honoured. Shivpur thanked his well-wishers. Ramachandra Rao and others compered the programme.
