Udupi:  Mahalaxmi Auditorium, a fully air-conditioned auditorium constructed at the premises of Sri Mahalaxmi Temple, Uchila by  the Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha, was inaugurated by Dr G Shanker, philanthropist and entrepreneur on May 28, Monday. The auditorium has been constructed at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore and has a seating capacity of 1000. It has also a spacious dining facility for 500 people.

Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Mutt blessed the occasion. He also felicitated Dr G Shanker for his contributions towards the construction of the auditorium. Students who scored high marks in the SSLC exams were also honored.

The Dr G Shanker Mini Hall was inaugurated by K Jayaprakash Hegde, the MP of Udupi Chikmagalur constituency. Lalaji R Mendon, Kaup MLA, declared open the Green Room.

B Keshav Kunder, President of Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha, presided over the function. Kirtiraj Salian, President of Mumbai Mogaveera Co-operative Bank, BJ Sriyan, President of Mumbai Dakshina Kannada Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha, Lokesh Putran, Dubai UAE Mogaveera Association President and several other leaders of the community were present on the occasion.
