Beltangady : The Mahamastakabhisheka of Shri Bhagwan Bahubali commenced at the Jain pilgrimage centre of Venur, Belthangady taluk on Jan 28, Saturday.
The grand event was held in the presence of chief minister Sadananda Gowda, Shri Digambar Nandi Swamiji and many saints and dignitaries.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya 108 Shri Gunadhar Nandi Maharaj said that earlier people had the misconception and superstition that the devotees who witnessed the Mahamastakabhisheka of Bhagwan Bahubali would misplace their posts, but ultimately this was proved wrong.
CM Sadananda Gowda said that the existence of mentor and aim is required for the success.
He also assured to establish an exclusive study centre on Jain teachings at Mangalore University in the coming budget.
The statue of Lord Bahubali was anointed with sandalwood, milk and other items in the presence of thousands of devotees.
