Mangalore: 13 creative activities, as part of Bal Bharat’s Srujanotsava(Creativity fest) by over 1,000 children, nationally endowed, gifted and skilled, made a merry in a homestead set of ‘Guthu-Mane’, erected by Pilikula Sanctuary authorities, about 8 kms. away from city in a forest-like area of a pond, flowers, birds and beasts.
The participating child delegates drew sand sculptures, cut foam into shapes, pasted paper for hanging lamps or kites, drew pictures and cartoons, made collages(pieces put in art form), modeled clay into images, created masks in thermo foam, formed sand arts, made paper lanterns, metal embossing, origami and conducted magic feats. Coloured waste paper was used for collages, made into coconut trees, ducks, crows, landscapes and circus clowns.
In drigami (art of folding paper into boats or birds, Swans or butterflies), they made hanging lights.
In clay modeling, the kids made musical instruments, Lord Ganesha, meditating shiva, and 4 vedas as dogs. In sand art, they made fish and masks. 25 children drew cartoons, said John Chandran, a regular cartoonist, supervising them here.
Talented kids made even instant dip-art, on water surface.
On the whole, it was a new world of creative children altogether on Monday and Tuesday, beginning on a Sunday.
