Bangalore: The Janata Dal- Secular faction in Karnataka led by MP, HD Kumaraswamy, is recruiting film heroines to attract voters in advance of 2013 state legislature elections. It had brought in Pooja Gandhi for Udupi, but dumped her.

Now Malavika, a TV star who also did film roles over the years in Kannada, has been roped in, while HDK’S own second wife Radhika, remains only a film producer for ‘Lucky’, presented on screen by HDK, the real film producer.

Anitha an MLA, and TV owner, his first wife, is going round temples on her un-specified birthday, in Kollur and Udupi, seeking blessings as a politician.

Malavika in her 30s , says JD-S had been nursed on “socialism” so far. She becomes a primary member of JD-S in the presence of several Gowdas, and other leaders of JD-S in state, at the main office in city this afternoon.

She told scribes that she took permission of elders like T.N. Seetharam, before joining JD-S, to further socialism and a political career.

She knows about cine artistes joining various parties, and those who had become MPs/MLAs all over India, but she thinks she is not an exhibit, but really wants to achieve something, she assured.
