K.T. Balakrishna, Superintendent of Police, told that the suspension of Mr. Prakash had been revoked pending departmental enquiry.
The police constable, who was working in the Malpe Police Station before he was suspended, had been posted to the Karkala Town Police Station, he said.
Mr. Prakash had allegedly beaten Kumar, an employee of the fish company (belonging to Mr. Madhwaraj), when the former had gone with his wife, to an ATM to withdraw cash in Malpe on April 5. Mr. Kumar, who was reportedly drunk, had allegedly harassed Kumar’s wife.

There were allegations and counter-allegations from both the sides and Mr. Prakash was suspended pending enquiry on April 8.
Mr. Prakash’s wife lodged a complaint against Mr. Kumar at the Women’s Police Station here, while a case was lodged against Mr. Kumar at the Malpe Police Station. A case had also been filed against Mr. Prakash at the same police station.
