Udupi : Fishermen of Malpe Port  protested against the illegal fishing resorted to from the port by Tamil Nadu fishermen on November 16, Friday and even saw to it that the anchored Tamil Nadu boats vacated from the port.

Earlier, representatives of as many as 22 fishermen organizations participated in a meeting and decided to see that all fishing boats from others states be evacuated. They took to the streets against  the failure of the authorities to see to it that fishermen from other states did not venture into fishing from the state’s coast.

In the meantime, officials of the Coastal Police and fisheries department have assured steps to see that fishing boats from outside states did not enter the Malpe port/.
