Udupi : A constable from Malpe Police Station has been suspended on the charges of assaulting a man had teased his wife.

It is said that two workers of a fish meal company owned by Udupi District in-charge Minister had teased Prakash’s pregnant wife while the couple were returning in a bike from a clinic on April 5.

The suspended cop has alleged that the SP had bowed to political pressure and suspended him. As the accused works in a minister’s company case was not registered owing to pressure. Instead, a case was filed against me,” said Prakash.

An audio clip in which Prakash has narrated the incident has gone viral. In the clip Prakash also explained how the minister’s wife forced him to enter into a compromise.
