Kundapur: The police succeeded in arresting a man who attempted to break an ATM at Hemmady on Sunday.

Shekhar Poojary was a coolie worker at a building that housed an ATM booth. He though that by breaking into the machine, he could make easy money. Accordingly, he hatched a plan and went to the booth on Sunday night after covering his face.

He first damaged the CCTV camera and then began struggling to break open the machine. In the meantime, the police on night patrol arrived at the spot. Noticing them, Shekhar fled the spot, leaving behind his footwear.

The police taking the matter seriously, gathered clues from the spot and managed to nab Shekhar.
