Mangaluru : The Bantwal police have arrested a man hailing from Mani-Peraje, settled in Bengaluru for sharing obscene facebook posts of women and girls.

The accused Balkrishnaraj Neerchal had come to Neerchal to attand a marriage at Neerchal on May 6, Wednesday.

It is said that Shantharam Heggadekatte, living in Nigeria had been regularly picking pictures of women and girls from various FB accounts and was posting it on his facebook page with vulgar comments. The same posts were being shared by Balkrishnaraj among his group with slanderous comments on the women and girls.

Incidentally, one among the many pictures shared by Balkrishnaraj was that of a minor girl hailing from Vittal. When the girl’s parents learnt of the same, they lodged a complaint with Vittal police on April 13.

In a joint operation, the Vittal and Bantwal police had visited Bengaluru and raided Balkrishnaraj’s office. However, the accused managed to give the police a slip.

Even as the cops were planning another visit to Bengaluru, the accused happened to come to his native village to take part in a wedding.

The police successfully nabbed him on May 5. He was later released after executing a bail bond.
