Mangalore : A person who attempted to rob a Corporation Bank ATM at Derlakatte  has been arrested by the Ullal police. The man has been handed over to Konaje police.

The arrested is Arun Kumar (30) from Bagambila near Derlakatte. The incident took place on Saturday night when the police patrolling vehicle on seeing a bike in front of the ATM near Ayyappa Temple went near the ATM when they saw Arun busy using a gas cutter to open the machine. He was wearing a monkey cap.

The police immediately closed the door of the ATM and arrested him.

It is learnt he was running a battery shop nearby and a loss in business made him take to ATM looting.

Investigations are underway.
