Mangalore :  Several cases of smuggling gold  have been detected  at the Mangalore International Airport. In a case detected on September 25, Wednesday, customs officials arrested Abdul Rahiman Malangala (29)  from Hidayatnagar in Kasargod who  was smuggling nearly 1.5 kg gold bars inside a fan in his luggage.

The gold weighing 1,499.45 grams is said to be worth Rs 45.55 lakhs. There were a total of six gold bars of 24 carat purity.
