Haveri : Mohammed Hanif Kulmi (65), a resident of Byadgi taluk in Hale Sidenuru in Haveri had a heated argument with his wife B P Jahirabi (55) on Thursday morning, because she had not agreed to have sex the previous night. In a fury, he attacked her with a machete and slit her throat with it.
Byadgi police officials said Kulmi, a small-time honey trader, has two sons and two daughters, all of them married. He had frequent fights with his wife since the past three years because she was not cooperating with him in sexual matters. He also felt she was not taking proper care of him.They had a violent argument on Wednesday night and again on Thursday morning, culminating in the murder.
The couple lived with their younger son Hajibudin (35) and his wife. “Hajibudin had fallen sick on Tuesday and was admitted to Manipal Hospital in Haveri. His wife was there too. If they were at home, things would not have reached such a horrible conclusion,” said one of his neighbours.
When Himan Saab Kulmi(42) his elder son, who lives opposite to his parents’ house, got to know that his father had chopped off his mother’s head and was going around on a bike displaying it to the public, he rushed to the police station and informed the cops. Byadgi police arrested Mohammed and registered a case under IPC section 302 against him.
