Bantwal : A man set fire his motorbike in front of a two-wheeler showroom in Kaikamba near B C Road on February 7, Monday and fled from the place.

It is learnt he resorted to this extreme step following an argument with the owner of a private finance company over repayment of loan.

The man who set ablaze his own bike is Mohammad Harshad of Farangipete. It is learnt, he had availed loan from a private finance company to purchase the bike and the company had reportedly seized his vehicle documents and had directed him to pay the instalment. An argument over the issue resulted in the incident.

A fire tender vehicle which rushed to the spot, doused the fire.
