Mangalore : A man named Umesh who was trying to peep into the bathroom of a house near The Kotekar post office on October 22, Tuesday night was chased by the public. But the man in his haste to escape had no other option but jump into a well.

He was later rescued by the fire service personnel after nearly one hour. Until then he was swimming in the water.

Locals say he was resorting to similar acts even in the past and was once even brutally beaten up.
