Mangalore: A gang of around seven to eight unidentified assailants  hacked to death Prashanth (35), manager of  a private firm near the Mangala bar at Valencia on April 7, Sunday night.

The deceased who hailed from Kunjatbail, Marakada was a manager of Sri Adhinatheshwara Roadlines  in Mangalore. Prashanth was found dead near his car. The police suspect that he was attacked while he was inside the car and might have rushed out to save himself. The gang might have chased him and killed him with sharp weapons.

The motive of the murder is not known. The body was shifted to Wenlock. Pandeshwar police are conducting investigations.
