Mangalore: A beautifully lit chariot on which the decorated pleasing idol of Sarada Devi went in a grand procession, with devotees pulling the ropes all along the road from Mangaladevi Temple to the immersion venue on Thursday, Oct6.
Tableaus accompanied the great chariot, depicting a rich local culture, besides Tiger dancers in red, white and green colours, throwing their arms and legs up and down to the splendid beats on drums, as the heads wearing masks in white swayed. Women and children thronged in eager delight.
Large number of regular devotees,visitors and guests thronged on last three days at the temple early this week on Panchami, Navami and Dashami, to participate in all thrilling divine activities.
The Avabratha(Okuli) bath and Satyanarayan Puja are due on Oct7 and 8 respectively, as a relief to the earlier rigours of past one week, in Navaratri celebrations, when Mangaladevi deity and temple premises shone resplendently.
