Mangalore: The Mangalore (Bajpe) Airport is poised to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee (60 years) celebrations for meaningful and purposeful services to the Indian nation (and in recent years, international tourists also).
A committee has drawn up several programmes to be conducted till 21-12-2011, for which it hopes to secure public co-operation from coastal Karnataka. A preliminary meeting in this connection was organised in KCCI hall on 13-03-2011, in which people had participated in large numbers to show their enthusiasm, said K Tejomaya, chief organiser of the Committee in a Press meet arranged in Patrika Bhavan on Monday.
A “Tulunad Janapada” (folk) Kreedotsava (Games Festival)-2011 has been arranged on 29-05-2011, Sunday at Moodabidri Swaraj Maidan, he informed inviting people from coastal districts of DK, Udupi and Kasaragod to participate in the game as players and spectators. There are separate games for Boys and Girls. Players are given breakfast and lunch. Winners of the 9 games (4 for men and 5 for women) will be given cash awards and certificates.
