Mangalore : Justice Uma M G, principal district and sessions judge inaugurated the new office of Mangalore Bar Association at the district court complex in Court Hill on September 25, Thursday.
Speaking after inaugurating the office she said that Mangalore Bar Association was established in the year 1881 and completed its 133rd year of service. Although large number of lawyers were facing problem due to shortage of space and basic facilities, they did their work with humility and dedication.
She also said that from the time being women lawyers were suffering the most due to lack of facilities and now happy to have the separate room for women lawyers. Further would like to see the Mangalore Bar Association’s own building.
DC A B Ibrahim said that, Mangalore Bar Association has contributed good number of best and successful lawyers to the country. The new office will help the lawyers to improve their quality of work.
Karnataka Bar Council vice-chairman B B Ravindranath Rai, MLC Ivan D’souza, Mangalore Bar Association president P Ashok Arigam, general secretary B Vittal Rai and others were present.
