Mangalore : The District unit of the Komu Sauharda Vedike in association with various other organizations will be holding a Mangalore Chalo rally on August 4 from Ambedkar Circle to DC office. Representatives from various organizations are expected to take part in this jatha. . B T Lalita, former minister, Gowri Lankesh, journalist, progressive thinkers Sabeeha Bhoomigowda, Jyoti Guruprasad, and  others will participate in the protest.

This was informed at a press meet convened by Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike and other likeminded organizations in the city on August 1, Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, District President of the Vedike demanded the resignation of Deputy Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh and Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh for their failure to prevent the attack by the saffron brigade.

He said the demands of the Vedike includes dropping of cases registered against  media persons who aired the incident and to once again arrest the local corporator Mohan Padil for supporting the attack. The Vedike has also demanded a ban on saffron organizations.
