Mangalore : The Mangalore City Corporation has decided to introduce box type high tech toilets also called E toilets in city very soon said Mayor Mahabala Marla.

He also said that, the MCC will install E toilets with overhead water tanks throughout the city in crowded areas, which can be shifted anywhere with ease.

The toilets will be fully automatic and not manned. It functions when a coin is inserted in the specified slot and the door opens. After using the toilet, the water system automatically flushes the toilet, releasing pleasant fragrance to freshen up the atmosphere inside and closes door automatically after a person exits.

These toilets will be installed near the drainage systems and provision to connect solar power to these toilets instead of normal electricity supply is also in progress.

Mayor also said that, MCC is in talks with a Saudi based company operating from Kerala in providing these e toilets.

The sponsors willing to place their commercial advertisements around the e toilets will subsidize the expenses incurred towards installment and its maintenance.

Mayor said that the MCC has decided to install the E toilets after visitors have been complaining about the sanitary facilities available in the city which are totally unhygienic.
