Mangalore : Harikrishna Bantwal, trustee of Mangalore Dasara committee Dr Veerendra Heggade said that the Mangalore Dasara will be held at Kudroli Gokarnanatha Kshetra from Oct 5, Saturday – 14, Monday.
He was speaking at the press meet held at Kudroli Gokarnanatha Kshetra auditorium on Sep 23, Monday. He also said that the consecration of the Navadurgas on Oct 5, Saturday at 11:30 p.m. will mark the beginning of the Mangalore Dasara celebration.
Various cultural and religious programme will be held from Oct 5 to Oct 13 at Santhoshi auditorium which will start from 6 pm.
Each day, the special pujas will be performed to the idols of Mahagowri, Kathyayini, Mahakali, Brahmacharini, Shailaputhri, Kushmandini, Siddhidhatri, and Skandmatha.
On Oct 14, a grand procession will start at 4 p.m. from Kudroli Temple and will pass through Mannagudda, M. G. Road, Alake, and Ram Bhavan Circle, before heading back to Kudroli, where all the idols will be immersed, he said.
The procession will comprise of various tableaux, hulivesha, color umbrella dancers, chende and panchavadya’s.
Shri Gokarnatha Kshethra President H. S. Sairam, Vice President Raghavendra Kulur, treasurer Padmaraj R, Maheshchandra, Leelaksha Karkera, Harishchandra, Devdas contractor, Devendra Poojary, Dr B G Suvarna, Dr Anusuya and others were present.
