Mangalore : Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. TC Shivashankeramurthy inaugurated the silver jubilee celebrations of the Mangalore Diocesan Chair in Christianity at a function held at Milagres hall on November 21, Wednesday.

In his address, the Vice Chancellor appreciated the activities of the Chair in Christianity since the past 25 years. He also pointed out that the various chairs  in Mangalore University too were doing yeoman service.

Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza, Bishop of Mangalore, presided over the function. Fr Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General; Sr Marie Prem D’Souza, principal of St Agnes College Fr Joseph Martis, Rector of St Joseph Seminary; Fr Swebert D’Silva, Principal of St Aloysius College;   Fr Victor Machado, Parish Priest of Bejai church and  Dr Honey Cabral were the chief guests.

A workshop on ‘Contributions of Coastal Karnataka Christians to the Society’ was held to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of the Chair in Christianity.
