Mangalore: The Diocese of Mangalore hosted a warm reception to Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, the first Bishop of the newly formed Diocese of Udupi, at the Rosario Cathedral in Mangalore on November 4, Sunday. The Bishop of Udupi as well as the Bishop of Mangalore Rev Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza were accorded a warm welcome at Rosario Cathedral.
A citation was presented to the new Bishop of Udupi on behalf of the Mangalore Diocese. Sr. Cecilia Mendonca, the Secretary of the Council of Priests and the President of the CRI, offered honours to the new Bishop of Udupi on behalf of the Diocesan priests.
The Mangalore Bishop honoured the Udupi Bishop by presenting him a shawl, flowers, fruits and the keys of a Tata Bolero vehicle.
Speaking on the occasion, the Udupi Bishop thanked the Mangalore Diocese for the honor conferred on him. A mass was held on the occasion.
