Mangalore: The quality of Kannada schools teaching is going down year by year, and one cannot appoint teachers according to certain ratios of students in a class, rather each class should have a teacher in the Kannada schools, besides having extra curricular guides (like physical instructors, games and music teachers etc). It was decided in a ZP’s KDP meeting to Adopt Resolutions to this effect and send them to Bangalore for Govt. approval.
The KDP meeting was chaired by ZP chief Ms. K.T. Shailaja, Kannada Shitya Parishat Dt. President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura placed proposals on Kannada schools, their conditions and usage of Kannada in public places/matters. The ZP resolutions would be complementary to Govt. thinking while forming a policy on Kannada, Kalkura added. He law has no provision for Kannada, but people have to wake up and support Kannad in administration in all Govt. depts., even the hospitals, officials informed.
Zp Vice-chairperson Dhanalaxmi J, standing Committees chiefs Naveen Monala and Eshwar Kateel, Social Justice Committee head Janardhan Gowda were present and took part in discussions on power connections, housing, paddy cultivation, Indira Awas and other housing schemes.
