Mangaluru : There is no celebration of Ganeshotsava in the city like last year. Demand for vegetable and sugarcane, flower, and other items sales were low and there were fewer customers had seen in the market.
The Hindu Yuva Sena Ganeshotsava which celebrated in seven days at Mangalore Nehru Ground is shifted to Balambhatta hall and will be celebrated in a simple manner for a single day.
As per the Government’s protocol, this year public Ganesh festival celebrations restricted. The Mangaladevi Ganeshotsava Samithi, KSRTC, Police Line and Siddhivinayaka Pratishtana Ganeshotsava will be celebrated in a simple manner by one day. The worship of Lord Ganesha will be held for five days in the Sanghanika with the government’s guideline.
Thee eco-friendly Ganesha statue has been guided to celebrate. Rules must be adhered to by the public and sellers. Violators have been warned that they will be punished under the Environment (Protection) Act 1986 and the Water Act 1974.
Public Ganesha festival and processions has been canceled. The government says more people cannot join because of the fear of spreading the Covid infection.
Gauri festival is held on August 21 and Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on Saturday, August 22.
* Ganapati installation and procession in public is prohibited.
* Ganesha Chaturthi festival is celebrated in a simple manner in the temple or at home.
* Ganesha idol cannot be installed in public places (street, gully, lane, ground etc.).
*Ganesha statue cannot be excavated in river, lake, pond, well and Kalyani for any reason.
* Ganesha idol cannot be paraded for any reason. The parade is completely forbidden.
* Ganesha statue installed in the house should be discharged within the premises of the house.
