Mangalore: Intelligence sources have alerted the sea watch groups that terrorists could enter Mangalore by sea to launch an attack on India from the Gateway of the west.
The terrorists may get off at Malpe harbour or at Panambur in Mangalore, to attack fishermen and set fire to boats. Vessels from outside are not permitted to reach Malpe which has a shipyard but infiltrators could use it to enter the country, vigilance reports warned. Mangalore port is vulnerable to foreign terrorist attacks, sources said. Smuggling activities are on the rise in this region, it was pointed out.
