Mangalore: Heard of Mangalore – One? Sounds like “Ra-One”, a Hindi film title, but this is different.
The “Mangalore One” centres have been steadily rendering citizenry services of various kinds to Mangaloreans from 8 AM (morning) to 8 PM (night) on all 365 days, since one year, they say, and citizens could avail of these services.
And they do not have to pay anything extra from their pockets. What are they? There is a whole list, according to the Dynamic DC of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr.N.S. Channappa Gowda in a press note.
The services relate to Power-water, Mobile and home telephone bill payments at this centre. Besides KSRTC bus ticket booking, state Government bus ticket booking, state, government or central Government/public sector undertakings jobs forms to be had and Passport Application forms on sale, at these centres. Reneval of an Insurance policy with ING-vaishya (bankers) for paying installments of premium on a policy or policies, also is handled by the centre.
The offices of “Mangalore-1” centre are, in Lalbagh at MCC basement, (0824-2459959), KS Rao Memorial Building on Light-house hill road, at MESCOM building in Kadri near Market, MCC complex basement in commercial conclave, and all local citizens/houscholders are welcome to utilize those civic services at mangalore-1 centres, says DC kindly in a public release, on Wednesday.
