Mangalore : The Mangalore police arrested four thieves in connection with temple burglary cases coming under the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate, said Seemanth Kumar Singh, Police commissioner.
He was speaking at the Press meet held at the Commissioner’s office on July 25, Sunday. He said that the temple burglary cases had taken place under police station limits like 4 cases in Sakleshpur , 2 two in Bhatkal, two in Bantwal, and one each in Uppinangady, Belthangady, Surathkal and Bajpe.
The accused have been identified as Seetharama Shetty (49) resident of Vittla, Ravi (21) of Chikmagalur District, and Ananda Poojary (20) and Gopala (22) of Hassan District.
The police also said that Seetharama Shetty, is the master mind in the all these burglary cases and he was also arrested in the similar case earlier. An amount of Rs 1 lakh has been seized from them.
The team led by Valentine D’Souza, CPI Panambur. Gopal Kotapady PSI (Crime), Anantha Padmanabha PSI(L and O) Kavoor P S, Vijayaraj Kavoor PS HC, Rajesh Alva Isak, Mohith, Jeevan, Kiran, Chandrahasa, Ravichandra, Ravikumar, Jagadisha, conducted the search operation.
